Admission Criteria & Scope of Our License
Every referral is reviewed individually against the AHCA Form 1823 and the resident's presenting needs. As a standard-licensed facility, we can serve:
Therapy graduates stepping down from SNF or inpatient rehab
Supervision or assistance with ADLs, bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Able to transfer, with assistance if needed, including a two-person assist
Medication assistance or administration; routine portable oxygen
Respite and short-term recovery stays
Residents enrolled in licensed hospice, coordinated under an interdisciplinary plan
Outside our license scope
Under Fla. Admin. Code R. 59A-36.006, a standard-licensed ALF cannot admit or retain a resident who:
Requires 24-hour nursing supervision, except under licensed hospice
Is bedridden beyond seven consecutive days, except under licensed hospice
Requires skilled rehabilitative services
Requires tube feeding, an artificial airway (CPAP and BiPAP are permitted), or IV therapy or dialysis in the facility
Has stage 3 or stage 4 pressure sores

Payment
New Moon is a private-pay community. We accept private funds, long-term care insurance, and VA benefits. We do not participate in Medicaid or Optional State Supplementation, and Medicare does not cover assisted living room and board.
